FASHION OF CONGO

In Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo, there is a special society that exists. One that uses the art of fashion and style as a means to happiness and forgetting the Civil War that almost tore the Congo apart.

The ‘Sapeurs’ of Congo are a society of elegant persons, a close knit group of men who believe in defying circumstances and living with Joie De Vive (The Joy of Living).

In this documentary created by Guinness Europe, they illustrate the brightly coloured and social affairs that bring the ‘Sapeurs’ together.

Almost 70% of them are in the state of poverty but they would spend USD300 or sometime loan from the bank to buy clothes.

10 STRANGE HOBBIES

#10 Playing dead

Chuck Lamb, 47 aka The Dead Body Guy probably has the world’s strangest hobby: he likes to play dead. As if that’s not enough, he takes it one step further: he takes photos and videos of himself playing dead and posts them on his website, starting in 2005. These bizarre antics have attracted 32 million hits to his website by its 1st anniversary, and several newsprint, TV and radio appearances. But what is his motivation? In his website, he says that he’d always dreamed of being in a movie or on TV. Well, that seems to be a pretty bizarre hobby for a married man with 6 kids. He himself admitted that he has no acting experience and he’s not good looking. In other words, he’d never make it as an actor.

10 WORLD MOST EXPENSIVE FOOD

1. World's Most Expensive Mushrooms

Matsutake Mushrooms – $1000/pound

The matsutake, or mattake, mushroom is expensive because of its rarity. While its historical prevalence meant it was nearly synonymous with autumn in Japan, the introduction of an insect that kills the trees under which the mushroom grows has caused a dramatic decrease in the number of matsutake mushrooms. A method for farming the matsutake has yet to be developed, which means the lack of trees from which to harvest these mushrooms naturally is a serious problem for the species.

TOP 9 MOST UNUSUAL WEDDING

9.  The bride who had 110 bridesmaids and set a World Record

Did you know that there's a Guinness World Record for the most bridesmaids in a wedding? One bride from Proctorville, Ohio, broke the record with more than 100 bridesmaids at her June 11, 2010 wedding. Jill Stapleton, who owns Jill's Tumble World, a dance school, asked her students -- all 110 of them -- to be her bridesmaids and walk down the aisle at her wedding. The bride asked each girl to choose her own dress for the wedding in either purple or teal, the school's colors. In lieu of bridesmaid bouquets, each bridesmaid carried a single rose. The previous record for the most bridesmaids in a wedding was 90.
